I measured about a cup and 1/4 of sauce that went down the drain….I know the chicken would have added some liquid so hard to figure it out. I guess I should just enjoy that I had an amazing dinner! If anyone has an idea, I’d be happy to hear. I logged the 2 thighs that I ate and then 3 points for the sauce…such a guessing game sometimes.
Sue, I just love your blog! So many of your recipes have become family favorites, which is why this post makes me so sad. I bought an Instant Pot, tried it a couple of times and couldn’t quite get the hang of it (pork loin roast that was waaay overcooked, whole chicken that looked anemic). After my final attempt to figure it out, a mushy pot of Minestrone, I sold it on Letgo. Literally two days later, you started posting the most incredible looking recipes… made in an Instant Pot! Now I kick myself for giving it up every time I read one of your IP posts! I get that pressure cooking is faster and can produce amazing results, but is there a way that fools like me who don’t have one can still make this (and maybe other) IP recipes?

Salts, Peppers & Spices Here I am eating my spaghetti not long after I asked the question about meatballs. I browned the hamburger, while it was draining in the colander I added meatballs to pot. Once the meatballs were browned I added the hamburger back in and followed the recipe. I did add less water as was suggested and I added the water and spaghetti sauce together stirred it well then added to pot. My husband loves it and said I could make it this way from now on. If the husband is happy, I am happy.

You can cook this bourguignon on the stove or in the slow cooker, I have recipes for both on the blog, just search ‘beef bourguignon’. That being said, I highly recommend you give the IP another try, I really think it’s here to stay and lots of bloggers etc will be coming up with great recipes for it.
Strangely, although I have an instant pot, on the poultry setting I could not program it for less than 10 minutes. So instead I chose manual on high pressure for 7 minutes and it was burnt on the bottom of the pot. Next time I’ll try medium pressure I guess. Otherwise it is delicious and I’ll be making it again.

August 11, 2017 at 3:19 pm I just tried this with a pearl rice, I set it for 6 min and it was a little over done, so will try 5 min next time. Out of curiosity, what kind of rice would you use with the rice setting, which is 12 minutes, and can’t be changed.

The Instant Pot, however, makes short work of this beloved sweet. The other night I, too, carefully peeled the label off. But using instructions from Melissa Clark in “Dinner in an Instant,” I opened the top, tightly wrapped it with aluminum foil and set it on the steamer rack that comes with the pot. I added water to halfway up the can and set it on manual for 40 minutes. When the pressure had released, the result was a tan, creamy rendition of childhood memories.

stores $400 to $800 I used my Instant Pot for the first time as a slow cooker. The recipe took 10 hours in a regular slow cooker but I had to cook it for around 20 hours in the Instant Pot and the carrots were still hard (okay for me but my husband likes them soft.)
