4.79 from 42 votes I am new to the instant pot and this is the third recipe I’ve tried making and so far, the best! We had it over white rice. We made 2 substitutions, sesame oil instead of vegetable oil and tomato paste and some water instead of tomato sauce. I’ll use tomato sauce when I make it again. The paste seemed to make the sauce a little thicker, and once I added the corn starch it got really thick-we just added a little more water, since we used fresh squeezed oranges and ran out of juice. Maybe I didn’t use enough water to thin the paste, I’m not the best cook! Either way, this had great flavor and turned out really good!

Lamb shanks were velvety soft in 40 minutes, short ribs fell off the bone in 30, and spare ribs were porky perfection in 20 minutes.
I haven’t gotten try try all the recipes yet but the Hungarian stew is good and the recipes are easy to follow. I like the cooking guide in the front that has suggested cook times for different foods. Not every recipe contains a picture.

Michelle says Easy and yummy!! I used 1lb meat, 12oz bag of noodles, 1 1/2 jars of Ragu, and 1 1/2 jar or water -did 8 minuets on high. Stirred up the Noodles -needed just a few more minutes. I put to sauté as suggested by others and stirred for about another 1-2 minuets and voila!!! Big hit!!!

Hello Brandie just picked up the 3qt Ip and was wondering if I could use slow cooker liners in it as I’m a over the road driver and clean up would be so much easier if they could be used. Had a few slow cookers but their life span in the truck isn’t long. Any ideas or comments would be helpful. Thanks G.

4-Ingredient BBQ Instant Pot Ribs from Pressure Cook Recipes Beans are an ideal food to make in the multicooker, because you don’t need to soak them. Just throw them into the pot with salted water and whatever seasonings you like. Make sure your beans are covered by at least 2 inches of water so they have room to expand while staying submerged, but never fill the pot more than two-thirds of the way full. Using the pressure setting, dried beans will cook in about a quarter to half the amount of time as on the stove (see this chart for cooking times). Slow cooking takes a lot longer (double to quadruple the time), but cooks them gently and evenly.
When you first open the pot it is like soup but as it sits the liquid is absorbed by the pasta.

List of cooking appliances Instant Pot(R) is all the rage and here’s why; these counter-top pressure cookers take salmon from frozen to fabulous in less than 5 minutes. Yes, it’s current. I don’t recommend the SMART anymore – still a “shit show” with very bad ongoing support. I’ve gotten too many “I can’t download the script, the app doesn’t work or connect” to recommend it in good conscience. In fact, shortly I will remove the scripts that I have added to recipes on this website as also advertises a product I no longer support or recommend.

January 17, 2018 at 4:07 pm First, it is almost impossible to mess up with this thing to a point of being dangerous, so if you’re concerned about the exploding pressure cookers of yore, you needn’t be (I said “almost”, don’t go overriding your pot’s safety features and then blame me when you poke an eye out). The lid audibly tells you when its sealed (when you turn it clockwise), and the pot won’t even build up much pressure if you haven’t properly closed the steam release handle by turning it, too, clockwise. The most likely point at which a problem could arise would be if you try to open the lid (by turning it counter-clockwise) before all of the pressure has been released and normalized (so don’t do that). The pot visually lets you know when it’s safe to open the pot, by the float valve (the little silver post that pops up when the pot is pressurized) dropping back down flush with the lid instead of being popped up. Think of the float valve as the reverse of a turkey pop-up button, in the case of the float valve it’s done when the button pops *in*, instead of out.
