I find that it takes forever to reduce the liquid so what I do now is cook the chicken in stock or even “jacked up water”. Dump the liquid after the chicken is cooked (best to let it rest covered a few minutes anyway) and reserve it for another use. Then put your soya sauce mixture in the IP on “Saute”, thicken it a bit and put the chicken back in the IP to coat. No more watery tasting sauce.

Ninety-nine percent of the time, if your pot isn’t sealing, that gasket has slipped out of place and it is disrupting the seal. Always make sure to look at the silicone gasket; make sure it’s tucked up in place before you close your lid.

EXPERT TIP Can the recipe be adapted to use boneless skinless chicken thighs? ! I made this last weekend. It was really delicious. I have both and use both. some of that depends on what I am cooking and what day of the week it is. I am gone about 11 hours a day so if I don’t have someone to start that crockpot later, I tend to use the instant pot. I find less tender cuts such as some roasts and shredded chicken is much better from the crock pot. I love doing beans, rice and soups in my instant pot. I also don’t think it has to be all one or the other. I am a gadget geek so I like to buy and learn to use new appliances. I will never give up my slow cooker though.
Image forums You can use it frozen since the IP heats really quickly (I wouldn’t suggest using a frozen carcass for a slow cooker). It will just take the machine a little longer to come up to pressure.
